2022 Competition Information

Keeping It Local

The theme for our next competition explores ways in which we engage with our local community. We invite members to create a fibre artwork that illustrates the joys and trials of life in your corner of the world. What sights and sounds do you enjoy or rue at a neighbourhood market, business, or seasonal fair? How do you or your family participate in activities organized by community associations and groups? How far have you traveled the trails that extend within and beyond your neighbourhood? What does ‘keeping it local’ look like for you?

2022 Competition Information

Since 1998, Focus on Fibre Art Association has sponsored a biennial juried competition and exhibition of fibre art, including but not limited to: hand knitting, needlework, quilting, rug hooking, sculpture, textile design, weaving/tapestry, and wearables (clothing/accessories in any technique).

The juried competitions are one of the ways FFAA meets its goal to encourage, foster, and develop among the community excellence and appreciation of fibre as an art form. Winners of present and past competitions are listed on the galleries page.

FFAA’s 2022 biennial juried and judged competition and exhibition are planned on the theme ‘Keeping It Local.’ Watch this space in the coming months for further information.
