FFA Studio & Gallery Events


In 2020 FFAA opened a 2800 sq. ft. studio/gallery space at the Strathearn Shopping Centre at 9532 – 87 Street in Edmonton AB – see map). Space is shared with the Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA). The studio/gallery is used jointly as a multi-purpose space for meetings, workshops, exhibitions, and open studio days.

Note that there are two access doors. If the door at 9532 is not open, proceed to the door at 9534 and enter through ACUA; indicate your arrival to the ACUA staff and then proceed to the double doors to access the studio/gallery space.

There is free parking in front and a café nearby. There are also tables and chairs available outside for visitors’ use.

Open Studio Days – When the Studio re-opens for group events, FFAA will be hosting Open Studio Days where individual members can book tables to work on their personal projects. Open Studio Days are also open to small groups of members wishing to work together. There are 12 individual workspaces for sewing machines and handwork in compliance with AHS COVID-19 guidelines. GalleryWhen the Studio re-opens for group events, guilds and individual members are invited to showcase their fibre artwork in the gallery on a rotating basis. There are about 40 running feet of wall space with a modern installation system. Bookings for display space can be made for a period of one month for each member or member guild. Email studio@focusonfibreart.org for more information.

Fibre Art Studio Event Guidelines

Visitors and participants entering the Focus on Fibre Art Studio for events and meetings are required to follow the health guidelines of the group or organization sponsoring the event. Consult with event organizers to confirm whether health precautions are in place for the event or meeting you wish to participate in. Note that hand sanitizer and masks are available to those wishing to use them.

Due to current health restrictions, all group meetings are cancelled until further notice. The FFAA Studio Gallery remains open for viewing the rotating exhibitions of members’ artworks. Maximum of six patrons at one time.
