Introduction to Tapestry

You already know how to warp your loom and weave independently. You’ve been looking at tapestry and wondered what is involved.  The answer: hard work, no real rules, but basic techniques applied carefully to create any image you can design. Did I mention hard work and a healthy dose of impatience?

This course will cover the basics of tapestry weaving from dressing the loom, designing the image, making the cartoon and finishing and mounting.

At the end of this course you will be able to: Look for inspiration. Design an original work, Prepare a cartoon, Select and blend yarns.  Warp and prepare a loom for tapestry weaving. Troubleshoot weaving problems.
